We might be a few weeks late, but fairy tales don't tend to take place in the winter months. Despite the snow, ice, and storms, we're hard at work prepping for the best What The Fur ever

WTFur 2013 Registration is now open!

We are pleased to announce that registration for What The Fur 2013 is now officially open!

Our Early Bird registration rates will be available from now until November 31st. On December 1st, the prices will change. Visit our Registration Page for details, and for the link to register for the convention.

All memberships are available! Regular, Sponsor, our new Patron level (which includes a meal in the Tour de Ville restaurant), and even our extremely-limited Lifetime Membership levels are all open!

And Dealers, you can also now register for your tables! Don't delay on getting your tables as even though we have a larger dealers' den, it's aiming to fill up.

To register just go to register.whatthefur.ca

AND a bonus...
We're going out of our way to try and make 2013 the best possible convention you could attend. To that end, we've secured a deal!
For those of you planning to attend What The Fur, and who might consider taking the train within Canada, VIA Rail is happily offering you a discount on the travel for trips between May 14th and 21st! You just have to book your trips online using our code. Check our travel page for details.

Why take the train? Well, it's more comfortable than the bus, and the main Montreal train station is just three blocks from the hotel! No complicated in-city travel planning is needed!

Once upon a time...

…there was a mountain. But this wasn’t just any mountain. This mountain was royal. It’s wooded slopes were the home to all manner of creatures. After many years, the trees gave way to the expansion of a kingdom. Giant buildings made of shining glass were erected, roads and causeways were created to aid in the delivering of goods and services. But the animals still remained, and thrived. Annually, folk from other kingdoms come to visit the Royal Mountain. They come from lands near and far for one purpose: To celebrate.
The pumpkin carriages are parked, the orchestra has struck the first note, and the banquet is awaiting. What The Fur 2013 is ready to receive you to our Fairy Tale kingdom! We’re pleased to announce that our fourth convention is building up nicely, with the staff rallying their elves and fairy godmothers to help.

A month ago we had a communication from our programming team. It covered many topics, but not everything was included
Now we present you with the rest of the news. The rest of the vital information that you all need to know. As the date that our scientists have predicted would be the launch of the apocalypse gets closer, we at What The Fur realize that many bits of information may get lost, or misconstrued.

Have no fear: We know. We assure you that the Zombie Apocalypse is real, and is happening. The undead furries will take over the island of Montreal… if you let them.

In this briefing:
1) Is chocolate a cure?
2) Can music soothe the souls of the undead?
3) Dealer Room and Art Show Status
4) How to distract Zombies! (or How I Ran A Panel at WTFur)
5) State of the hotel

WWhat The Fur is online again!

First, I want to thank everyone for your patience and understanding during our site's downtime, but we're now ready, and here we are! The new What The Fur? website is online and a go at http://whatthefur.ca
The first thing I feel should be officially announced is our theme
But I'll be tricky, the info is below the cut )

Guests
Let me be the first to thank our two wonderful guests of honour for the inaugural year of What The Fur: Max BlackRabbit and gNAW. Both of these gentlemen have been busy in the fandom, both artists of high regard.

Dates
After much wringing of the wrists and head-desking, we've managed to secure our dates for the first full weekend of June, the 4th to the 6th. We're sorry for the change in dates from our previously anticipated 11 to 13th, but with the Formula 1 races having been undecided until now, we could not in good standing announce a date and then have to charge you an arm and a leg just to attend.

Hotel
We will be holding WTF at the wonderful Days Hotel, located in the heart of the downtown sector of Montreal. The hotel is within a few blocks of nearly all kinds of food, a short hop on the Metro (Montreal's subway system) from the picturesque Old Port, and 2 blocks from the historic rue Ste. Catherine, which sits over a network of underground malls called the Underground City.

More details on registration will be posted in the next two weeks.
