This is a long entry (or will be eventually). Where as http://convention-watch.dreamwidth.org/tag will list all tags for the community, this entry is for telling you what the tags are for. Everyone speaks some version of $fandom*, this is the translation guide for the bits you don't understand.





*: Where $fandom is defined as something you geek about. Thus, car meets, unix conventions, and the like are fair game.

Will you include conventions that aren't fandom-based? For example, various open source projects, or technology conventions?

Absolutely.

There are plenty of open-admission events that people simply don't know about.
